Imagine taking a running jump into thin air over the chasm, soaring horizontally through the air over the turmoil of the Zambezi below. The gorge at this point is 200 meters wide and 120 meters deep. This is a great appetizer before you try the Zip Line and Gorge Swing.

The main gorges of the Victoria Falls
The First Gorge, the first throat that the water meets immediately after the jump of more than 100 meters.
The Second Gorge, located 250 meters from the waterfalls and 2 km long, it is located under the Victoria Falls Bridge; here is the Boiling Pot.
The Third Gorge, is the third throat you meet and it is about 2 km long and inside there is the hydroelectric power station of the Victoria Falls.
The Fourth Gorge, longer than 2km
The Fifth Gorge, 3.2km long
The Songwe Gorge, the sixth throat, located more than 5km from the Victoria Falls and 3.3km long; it takes its name from the Songwe River that comes from the North-East; the Zambezi River is deeper here than elsewhere, while the rocky walls are 140 meters high.
In all seven previous waterfalls have occupied seven gorges downstream of the current waterfalls over the millennia, and the Devil’s Waterfall on the Zimbabwe side is the starting point for the creation of a new waterfall; also, overflying the waterfalls, you can notice the possible positions for future waterfalls.

Overall, the gorges design a 150-km zigzag path through which the Zambezi River runs.
