Put your watch back several hundred years when you arrive at the uniquely-positioned Impalila Island that straddles the confluence of four countries.

It’s incredible to imagine that you could be enjoying a Namibian beer called Tafel, a Zimbabwean Zambezi, a Botswana St. Louis or a Zambian Mozi, all in close proximity. To be sure, time has completely stood still here where the Masubia tribe has lived as it has since time immemorial. Come and see their day-to-day life, virtually as it always was. Observe what they eat and where they sleep…whilst still ploughing their lands with teams of oxen. They live basic lives, cooking over open fires, carrying water and goods on their heads from the Chobe River.

Cultural performances take place intermittently, displaying a deep need for their own styles of music and dance. Of interest, the South African Defence Force once used Impalila Island as a military base. This meeting point of four countries was formerly known as The Caprivi Strip and is now called The Zambezi Region.
